Toronto, ON - June 24, 2008 - AudienceView Ticketing announced today it has signed a multi-year deal with the organizers of the Tribeca Film Festival presented by American Express to provide all ticketing services for the annual New York festival through 2012. AudienceView's fully integrated ticketing solution provides Tribeca with full control of their box office, brand and revenue streams. The 7th annual festival (April 23 to May 4, 2008) was live with the AudienceView solution and proved to be a great success for both organizations.
Festival organizers were looking for a scalable ticketing solution that had an open architecture and the ability to manage Festival-specific needs, such as credentialing. In addition to meeting these requirements, AudienceView’s web-based, user friendly solution makes it easy to train full-time and seasonal staff, as well as set up and relocate multiple box offices as needed. Looking to offset the demands of a complete in-house software solution, Tribeca uses AudienceView’s hosted ticketing model, giving them the best of both worlds: all the flexibility of an in-house system without the need to manage the supporting infrastructure.
"The new partnership with AudienceView elevates Tribeca's ability to ticket Festival customers and guests in the most progressive, efficient manner," said Keith Weckstein, Director of Ticketing Operations, Tribeca Film Festival. "Additions to our Box Office such as Print-at-Home Ticketing, real-time sales terminals at all Festival venues, and a fully hosted system, all are benefits that help people better navigate the Festival, further enhancing the overall experience."
The 2008 Festival saw a final attendance of nearly 400,000, with a ticketed attendance of over 155,000 to 700 screenings and 14 panel discussions over the course of the 11-day festival. With about 85% of the Festival’s available tickets sold or distributed to pass holders, the new AudienceView application ensured this process ran smoothly and quickly.
"Film festivals, unlike traditional venues, require another level of flexibility and adaptability when it comes to the way they operate," said AudienceView Vice President of Sales & Marketing Jeff Koets. "This new partnership between AudienceView and Tribeca speaks to those needs, providing the Festival with leading edge technology and the industry experience they were seeking. This year’s Festival was a great success for both sides and we’re looking forward to growing our relationship with Tribeca as well as other organizations in this exciting industry."
The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 following the attacks on the World Trade Center to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan through an annual celebration of film, music and culture. The Festival’s focuses on assisting filmmakers to reach the broadest possible audience, enabling the international film community and general public to experience the power of cinema and promoting New York City as a major filmmaking center. Since its founding, the Festival has attracted more than two million attendees from the US and abroad and has generated more than $425 million in economic activity for New York City.
