TORONTO, Ontario, Canada – August 17, 2010 – AudienceView Ticketing, a leading provider of advanced and flexible ticketing solutions to venues worldwide, announced today that the company has reached an agreement with the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. AudienceView will provide the organization with a fully-integrated ticketing, content management and CRM solution.
The Clarice Smith Center, located on the College Park campus of the University of Maryland, presents approximately 1,000 events each year spanning all performing arts disciplines. The Center features transformative performances, workshops, lectures, dialogues and other events featuring visiting artists from around the world, as well as students and faculty from the School of Music and School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies. The goal of the Center is to transform lives through sustained engagement with the arts.
The 318,000-square-foot facility, which opened in September 2001, houses six performance spaces and the university’s School of Music, School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies as well as the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library.
AudienceView Ticketing was selected by the Clarice Smith Center due to the fully-integrated nature of the software. In addition to the powerful ticketing platform, the Center highlighted the robust customer relationship management (CRM) module and content management module as major factors in their decision. These modules will instantly allow the Center to streamline the back-end of its website without compromising the quality of the front-end user experience. This increased efficiency will allow the Center to spend less time managing their ticket operations and more time growing their audience engagement.
Additionally, the Center was impressed with the 60 pre-configured reports and Business Intelligence module, which allows back-end users to create customized reports and extract data on any element of the system. Real-time access to this enhanced data was also cited as a contributing factor in selecting AudienceView Ticketing to power their box office operations.
“We are pleased to be working with AudienceView Ticketing,” said Erica Lee Bondarev, Director of Marketing & Communications at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. “The Center continually strives to understand whom its audiences are, where they come from and why they attend in order to expand their engagement and to keep them coming back. AudienceView's CRM capabilities will be extremely valuable to the Center because it allows us to capture meaningful and ‘mineable’ data about its patrons to improve upon our marketing efforts by customizing them to patrons needs.”
“We’re excited to add another flagship university to the AudienceView Ticketing platform,” said Jeff Koets, Vice President Sales and Marketing at AudienceView. “We strongly believe that we have the top solution for this specific vertical and being selected by the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center further cements our position in the marketplace. The AudienceView Ticketing solution will add immediate value for Erica and her team, allowing them to better understand their patrons to reach their goal of transforming lives through sustained engagement.”
The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities. Funding for the Maryland State Arts Council is also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Significant support is also provided by The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and The Leading College and University Presenter Program, an initiative of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
